Do you know the difference between tap water and bottled water? To celebrate April Fool’s Day, Food & Water Watch created a fake brand of bottled water, Potomac Springs.
Have you got love for tap water? Food & Water Watch is challenging college students from around the United States to declare their love for tap water — and get it on film. Breaking the bottled water habit means not only recognizing the health, environmental and economic costs of bottled water but also building renewed confidence in tap water that is safe and affordable. Show your love for tap water by participating in the I Heart Tap Water Video Contest at www.takebackthetap.org. The entrance submission date is passed and videos are now being judged. Stay tuned for finalists.
We’re urging people to buy local this holiday season. Buying local helps reduce global warming, and supports farmers and local economies. We’ve created a fun short film about local foods to entertain you while you’re cooking your holiday dinner.
While we work nationally to create a healthy and safe food system, we can take small steps locally, starting with purchasing local food from farmers and farmers markets. To find a market near you, visit: www.eatwellguide.org
